The 19U Fond du lac Post 75 team wasted no time in their first game of the year making a statement that they will score some runs this year. After giving up a single run in the top half of the first to Appleton Post 38 the boys scored 2 in the bottom half with an RBI single by newcomer Josh Burg. They then exploded for 4 more runs in the second to take control of the windy affair at Herr /Baker field. The big blow in the second was a 2 run double by Austin Wagner. "We went back and forth here in the first 2 innings and then Peyton settled in. A little rust by him having not thrown a whole lot lately. Overall very pleased with the first game and how we responded, stated manager Tim Norton.

The Post would add runs in every inning 1 in the 3rd/4th and 5th innings and then 2 more in the 6th to close out the scoring with an 11-5 win over Appleton. " That was nice to see that we kept adding on and stayed aggressive not only at the plate but on the base path. We have some team speed and need to use it. Also this is a team that we struggled against last year as they beat us 3 times. We needed to send an early season statement so that was nice to see also, added Norton.

Peyton Head got the win going 5 strong giving up 3 earned and 7 hits. SMSA graduate Blake Bauer pitched 2 scoreless and struck out 5/6 to finish up. The offense was lead by Wagner with a 3/4 day and 3 rbis  Waechter, Sam Hernandez, Cole and Burg also collected 2 hits apiece.

Next up is a Wednesday affair with Neenah. Game time set for 7:30 at St Mary's high school.
